That’s… a rather difficult question to answer.  I thought long and hard about it, I looked over all the MakoHaru screencaps I have on my blog trying to replay the scenes in my head and I’m still not sure how to answer.

First of all what you said about adoration made me remember a quote I heard some years ago that really stuck with me but I can’t remember who said it (>_<) but it goes something like this:

“Did you know that there is a difference between Love and Adoration? Adoration is higher than love, nowadays saying ‘I adore you’ became something banal… but to ‘adore’ is something reserved for the gods.”

I wonder if that’s what you mean; that what Makoto feels goes beyond love… I really can’t tell with this two. They are so different in the way they express themselves.

Makoto is more open, you can easily see how he feels in the little gestures he does

This last scene in particular was the moment I first though, ‘OMG Makoto is in love with Haru.’ I know I should’ve seen this coming, what with the ‘confession’ that happened just a few minutes earlier but seeing that look in his eyes was when it finally hit me.

I can’t tell you when I started shipping MakoHaru, I honestly cannot remember, it could’ve been as early as the first episode but that scene, that moment when the depth of his feeling finally hit me was when it became official to me.

And of course, seeing the proof that Haru cares just as deeply for him just fortified that.

Haru is stoic, definitely not a man of many words, and that makes it hard to tell how he truly feels, but as you said his eyes and actions say enough.

And of course, little by little, he learned how to express himself with his words as well.

I have to say, the fact that Haru doesn’t show how he feels easily makes it even more meaningful when he does, but that doesn’t mean that someone that wears his emotions on his sleeves like Makoto doesn’t feel just as strongly. You can see that by how the expression of their feeling affect each other.

They have such a strong and unique bond, I really can’t say who is more in love or maybe it goes even beyond that. All I can say is that every time I look at them looking at each other I feel this sense of belonging I never felt for any other pairing I have ever shipped and that just goes to show how special this two, and their relationship, truly are.
