yooo i got my kimino at nycc!! it was the best purchase. i just need to get some geta to go with it! i have no idea how to tie it, but the company i bought it from had it come w/ instructions. :) it’s so cute ahh

it’s rly hard being a different race than asian and liking asian culture because you get told you’re being racist all the time and that you’re adding to cultural appropriation and ok no. no. i wear my kimono bc i love the culture. i want to learn the language, because i think it’s really pretty and really unique. liking anime doesn’t lesson my fondness of the culture - it doesn’t make it irrevelent and it doesn’t make me a racist. geeeeeeeet the fuck out i’ll wear my kimono if i wanna

I would wear my blue kimono every day if it wasn’t so restrictive and the obi wasn’t so hard to tie like omg it’s so amazing and pretty and I LOVE IT
my friend’s mom gave it to me when I was in Japan bc I couldn’t afford one and she was like, “actually I have a few you can pick one out” and I WAS LIKE OMG NO WAY ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS THING IS LIKE WORTH $600 and my other kimono I got from a family friend who was married to some fancypants diplomat guy and I have a ton of stuff from India and Japan and Jordan now bc she gave it all to me.

I mean wow sorry for spending the last 7 years of my life excited about an interesting and unique culture - because, I don’t know, I went there
and sorry for allowing words from that language to infiltrate my daily vocabulary like most americans do with the spanish language.
and oops, wow, maybe I own two kimonos because they’re cool and oh did I mention I’m taking classes to learn the language because I think it’s an incredible and diverse language that’s really beautiful and oh, I’ve wanted to move to Japan since I was 14? and I had a plan in place to live there? with connections? I had a job lined up and a place to stay? and it got screwed over because of life?
but oh, I’m still planning on moving there?
